The influence of the Bauhaus on Hedwig Bollhagen is particularly evident in the original decors of the HB-Ritz series. They are applied to the pure potsherds with black engobe, refined using the sgraffito technique and glazed transparently. Patterns with a high recognition value are created, which reveal Hedwig Bollhagen's extraordinary talent for elevating the form with decorations. With its incomparable elegance in black and sand-colored decor, the Ritz collection has now gained worldwide attention and can be found in the shops of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Musée des Arts Decorative Paris, as well as those of the Bauhaus Dessau, Weimar and Berlin.
